The Swift Parrot is a Critically Endangered migratory bird found only in south-eastern Australia. There are only approximately 2000 swift parrots left in the wild. One of these tiny swift parrots was found on Lord Howe Island after flying 600klms off course. These beautiful small parrots breed in Tasmania before migrating to the Australian mainland to southern Queensland. This tiny bird was successfully rehabilitated at Taronga Wildlife Hospital and released with a wild flock in NSW.
